Today we celebrate freedom.
But how free are we, really?
Today, 1 July, marks the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the Dutch colonies in 1863. we commemorate emancipation and celebrate freedom.
While many of us here are fortunate to live free from war and occupation, meanwhile modern forms of exploitation, such as human trafficking, remind us that freedom can never be taken for granted.

Working with leaders and teams across the Caribbean has taught me that freedom also has that dimension.

โข to speak up?
โข to disagree respectfully?
โข to admit mistakes?
โข to challenge our leader?
โข to be ourselves at work?

Because freedom is not only about living without chains.
It’s also about having the courage and the safety to use your voice.
I’d love to hear your perspective:
